Hocus Pocus (movie)

Hocus Pocus is a children's Halloween themed film. Midler, Parker and Najimy star as three sisters who were witches sentenced to death in the 17th century; they return 300 years later thanks to a curse cast by eldest sister Winifred. They embark on a plan to achieve eternal youth by stealing the souls of local children before sunrise, but their plans are thwarted by a trio of children including a young Thora Birch. The film was critically panned and widely criticized for content that was deemed too scary or adult-oriented for young people. (In particular the character played by Parker seems to have an insatiable sexual appetite and this includes advances made towards a teenage boy.) The film has since become a cult classic and often airs on television, particularly during Halloween.
