Highlands, New Jersey

Highlands is a borough located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 5,097. It is the home town of film maker, director, and comic book writer Kevin Smith. It is also known for the Twin Lights, a gothic building complex on the top of the highest hill in town that houses two unique lighthouses (and provides a sweeping view of New York City and Sandy Hook).
