Higher power
Higher Power (HP for short), is the 12-step program version of God. Whereas 'God' often has ties to formal religion, HP is a personal concept that serves to help a person look outside of their self for help. One persons HP might be the old testament God, anothers might be a group of friends, or the laws of the nature.
