High school junior
An American naming, a 'junior' is someone in their penultimate year at an educational establishment. Therefore a high school junior is in their second-to-last year at high school. In the US this is a student in their 11th after kindergarten, usually 16-17 years old. It is typically the third year of high school.

In the United States, in mathematics, students usually take Algebra II, Trigonometry or Pre-Calculus. A college-preparatory curriculum would also include American literature as part of the English course.
