Hideyuki Kikuchi was born in Chiba, Japan in 1949. He attended Aoyama University. Kikuchi wrote his first novel, Demon City Shinjuku in 1982 and has written numerous horror novels in the past 20 years, including 17 novels about Vampire Hunter D. He also wrote Darkside Blues and Wicked City.
