Hi-Tek
Hi-Tek is an American hip hop producer from Cincinnati, Ohio. With Mood, Hi-Tek had a regional hit with "Hustle on the Side", off the album Doom, which featured among others Brooklyn MC Talib Kweli. Talib and Hi-Tek clicked immediately, and Hi-Tek went on to produce most of Talib Kweli and Mos Def's Black Star (1998). In 2000, Tek and Kweli made Reflection Eternal (2000) together, with rap by Talib Kweli and beats by Hi-Tek. It enjoyed a surprising crossover success. Later, in 2001, he released his solo album Hi-Teknology on Rawkus Records. The album was a compilation of tracks from artists like Mos Def, Vinia Mojica, Buckshot Lefonque and others, all produced by Hi-Tek. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

He quit the label shortly after the release, and was signed to MCA Records after the song "Round and Round" off Hi-Teknology became an underground hit. When signed to MCA, Hi-Tek made Hi-Teknology 2 and produced Cincinnati singer Jonell's debut album for Def Jam. Unfortunately, none of these albums were released. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Nowadays, Hi-Tek is working as a producer for artists like G Unit, Snoop Dogg, Lloyd Banks and D12, and of course his old friend Talib Kweli. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
