Hermann Hirt (born 1865 in Magdeburg, died 1936 in Giessen) was an Indo-Europeanist.

Hirt made foundational contributions to the study of PIE accent and ablaut. He is the author of the Indogermanische Grammatik, published in seven volumes between 1921 and 1937.
