Hendrix College


 

Hendrix College is a private college that is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, and located in Conway, Arkansas. The student body averages around 1,100 attendees, with over 80% living on campus. In recent years, more than half of the student population comes from out-of-state, chiefly from those states contiguous to Arkansas, but also as far away as Maine, Minnesota, California, Iran, and Russia. Hendrix also hosts between six and ten international exchange students each year and around 25% of graduating seniors have studied abroad. Hendrix is a member of the Associated Colleges of the South.

  • Mary Steenburgen (actress; left at age 19 to study acting professionally in New York City at the suggestion of her Drama Professor.)
  • Wilbur D. Mills (Former Congressman; Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, resigned in disgrace after getting caught in a fountain with Fanny Fox)
  • Roger Clinton (Brother of U.S. President Bill Clinton; Roger Clinton did attend Hendrix College for about two years)
  • Hays Carll (Independent Folk Singer from the Houston, TX area)
