Helen Gardner

Helen Gardner (1909-1986) was an English literary critic.

A fellow of St Hilda's College, Oxford from 1942, she became professor of English literature in the University of Oxford in 1966. She edited The New Oxford Book of English Verse, 1250-1950 and The Metaphysical Poets.
