Heidi

Heidi is the story of a young girl living with her aunt. The story is tragic and heart moving. As the girl grows up with her Grandfather on the Alm she realises that not everything one is told about someone is true and that not everyone is nice. Also, believing in everybody else as an equal and in the same way. The people around her learn this life lesson also in many different ways that can and will touch your heart without a doubt and make you feel as if you were learing these life lessons as well because you are! This is a book for all ages and this story has been and should be told throughout the world. I know it has touched my heart and it will touch yours to just read it!

The "Heidi Game"

On November 17, 1968, NBC cut off a broadcast of the last hour of a live American Football League game between the New York Jets and the Oakland Raiders in favor of a pre-scheduled airing of a new made-for-TV version of Heidi. The game, which has come to be known as "the Heidi Game", featured a barrage of competitive scoring and was later voted one of the most memorable in football history. The preemption prompted the league, and other major sports leagues, to renegotiate future television broadcast contracts to avoid such preemptions.
