Haw flakes


 
 

Haw flakes (Pinyin: sh?n zh? pi?n) are a Chinese sweet that is made from the fruit of the hawthorn. The candy is packaged into 10 rolls of about 32 one millimeter-thick candy discs. They are found in many Asian supermarkets at relatively cheap prices.

Their popularity in China is high, but is somewhat unknown in the United States. Teenage Americans have discovered that haw flakes may be used to jam parking meters.
