Harvey Lembeck

Harvey Lembeck was a nebbishy Jewish sidekick and comedic actor who began acting in 1951 and ended his career in 1982, a few years before he died. Father of actor/director Michael Lembeck and actress Helaine Lembeck.

His best-remembered roles are as Cpl. Rocco Barbella in The Phil Silvers Show (aka Sgt. Bilko) in the late 1950s, and as the stumbling, overconfident outlaw biker Eric Von Zipper in the Beach Party movie series, during the 1960s. He also turned in a noteworthy performance in both the stage and screen versions of Stalag 17.
