Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (film)

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is being directed by Mike Newell and will be released on November 18, 2005.

Trivia

  • This film is the first Harry Potter film to be rated PG-13 by the MPAA. It was rated PG-13 for sequences of fantasy violence and frightening images.
  • This film might get the rating 6 again in the Netherlands, after Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban had the rating 9.
  • Early internet rumours suggested that the film had an astronomical budget of well over $300 million, making it easily the most expensive movie of all time. However, this proved to be false, as the final budget is now estimated to be $130 million.
  • There were initial rumors that the movie would be split into two separate films, however the director decided to release it all in one movie, which made massive cuts from the plot necessary.
  • Jonny Greenwood and Phil Selway of Radiohead along with Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker appear in the movie as members of the band called The Weird Sisters
  • According to rumors that circulated the Internet in 2004, both Rowan Atkinson and John Malkovich were considered for the role of Lord Voldemort. Both were proven to be untrue (and as an interesting side note, Malkovich is an American, and doesn't meet the "All-British" cast requirement).
  • All three of the Dursleys, as well as Mrs. Weasley and Percy Weasley were cut from the film due to time contraints.
