Harrisonburg, Virginia
Harrisonburg is an independent city within the confines of Rockingham County in the U.S. state of Virginia. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 40,468. Harrisonburg is located in the Shenandoah Valley and is home to James Madison University and Eastern Mennonite University. It is the county seat of Rockingham County{{GR|6}}. The Bureau_of_Economic_Analysis combines the city of Harrisonburg with Rockingham county for statistical purposes.
