Harlow
Harlow is a local government district and new town in Essex, United Kingdom. It was developed around the old villages of Harlow, Great Parndon, Latton, Little Parndon and Netteswell from a masterplan drawn up in 1947 by Sir Frederick Gibberd http://www.gardenvisit.com/b/gibberd.htm.
Politics
The results of the 2005 General Election for Harlow were as follows:

Due to the very close result three recounts were made resulting in the final result not being declared until the morning of Saturday 7th of May.

The current composition of the town council is as follows:

Although a plurality of council seats are held by the Conservatives, the council's joint leaders are Kevin Brooks (Labour) and Chris Millington (Lib Dem). The council's chief executive is Malcolm Morley.
