Hanging is a form of execution, or a method for suicide.
Grammar
The term "hanging" is the focus of a famous bit of grammatical trivia. Traditionally, the past tense and past participle of the verb "to hang" are "hung" when referring to the abstract idea of hanging things; but "hanged" when referring to an execution or death by hanging. http://trackerpress.com/pdf/Page_60.pdf
