Halle, North Rhine-Westphalia
Halle (also called Halle in Westfalen in order to distinguish from Halle, Saxony-Anhalt) is a town in the German Bundesland of North Rhine-Westphalia. It lies in the western part of the state, south of Osnabrück and east of Münster. Population: 21,000 (2004).

The town hosts an annual ATP tennis tournament, one of a small number of tournaments in the world played on grass. The event takes place a few weeks before Wimbledon and is considered a tune-up for the latter tournament.
