Halifax Metro Centre
The Halifax Metro Centre was built in 1978 in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The building is next to the World Trade and Convention Centre, at the foot of Citadel Hill. In the mid to late 1990s there were numerous renovations to the arena, including the addition of about 60 SkyBoxes. Before the 2002-03 hockey season, they added a JumboTron scoreclock to replace the old score clock, which did not have a TV screen. There is also a litebright screen on one end of the arena. Also, around the concourses of the arena, there are photographs of the various events that have taken place there. On one side of the building the photos are of entertainment events and on the other side the photos are of sporting events (including professional wrestling). It is sometimes referred to as the MC. It currently has a seating capacity of about 10,600 for hockey.
