Hajji
Hajji ({{lang-ar|الحجّي}} {{unicode|al-ḥajj?}}, pilgrim) is an honourific title given to a Muslim person who has successfully completed the Hajj, and is often used to refer to an elder. The title is placed before a person's name.

It has also emerged as a racial epithet used against Muslims. In the way that "Gook" was used by Vietnam servicemen, Hajji is used by American (and possibly other coalition troops) to describe the locals in Iraq. It isn't really used to refer to individual people like "Nigger" and "Spic" is used in America, but more in a collective sense. For example, if a soldier has to enforce a law that's not going to be pleasent to obey, he would say "Hajji is going to be pissed", refering to all of the locals. It can be argued that "Hajji" is some abstract character representing the locals in the same way that "Uncle Sam" represents the United States. It is often misspelled by soldiers as "Hagi" or "Hagee" that don't know the etymology of the word.
