Habanera (aria)
The "Habanera" is an aria from the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet. It is also sometimes known by its first line, "L'amour est un oiseau rebelle." It contains the famous melody and is based on the descending chromatic scale. After the aria is completed, Carmen traditionally throws a flower at Don Jose.
