Guitar
The guitar is a stringed musical instrument. It is generally played with the fingers of the left hand{{ref|rhlh}}. The right hand plucks the strings with either the fingers or a plectrum, (guitar pick). The sound is produced by vibrating strings, which in turn resonate the body and neck.
Guitar Synthesis
Guitar Synthesis takes two forms, firstly the emulation of guitar played on other instruments such as the keyboard synthesiser using guitar like sounds. Secondly, special purpose synthesisers which interpret and convert vibration of the strings into midi commands. This allows a guitarist to play and record music in the same way as a keyboard player.
