Guatemala national football team

The Guatemala national football team is the national team of Guatemala and is controlled by the Federación Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala. It was founded in 1919 and affiliated to FIFA in 1949. It has never qualified for the World Cup, but currently is making a surprising trip to the final round of CONCACAF qualifying for World Cup 2006. Guatemala hosted the 2000 FIFA Futsal World Championship.

Guatemala's best finish in the CONCACAF Gold Cup was fourth in 1996. They have won the 3rd North, Central-American and the Caribbean Championship NORCECA in 1967 and the UNCAF Nations Cup in 2001.
