Guadalupe Mountains
The Guadalupe Mountains is a mountain range located in western Texas and southeastern New Mexico. The range includes the highest summit in Texas, Guadalupe Peak and the "signature peak" of West Texas, El Capitan. The range lies SE of the Sacramento Mountains and east of Brokeoff Mountains, extends NNW and NE from Guadalupe Peak in Texas into New Mexico, 16 km (10 mi) SW of Carlsbad; bound on N by Four Mile Canyon; on E by valley of Pecos River; on W by Piņon Creek, Big Dog Canyon, Valley Canyon, Middle Dog Canyon and West Dog Canyon.
