Gridiron

Gridiron can mean many different things:

• Gridiron football -- either the field on which the football game is played, or the game itself.
• In theater, the gridiron is a metal framework suspended above the stage from which lights and other items are hung.
• A gridiron is also a type of grill that can be used to cook meat or other food over a fire.
• A gridiron pendulum is a part of a pendulum clock as designed by John Harrison
