Greve municipality

Greve Municipality is a municipality (Danish, kommune) south of Copenhagen in Roskilde County on the east coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 60 km², and has a total population of 47,671 (2005). Its mayor is René Milo, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party.

The site of its municipal council is the town of Greve.

Until the 1960s the area was primairly agricultural. Today, it serves primarily as a residential municipality, functioning as a suburb for the larger Copenhagen area.
