Gresham, Oregon
Gresham is a city located in Multnomah County, Oregon about 18km east of Portland. It was named for the American Civil War general Walter Quinton Gresham. As of 2004, the city had a total population of 94,250. This makes Gresham the fourth largest city in Oregon.
History
Although a post office was established in May, 1884, Gresham was not incorporated as a city until 1905. Lewis Shattuck, son of a pioneer family, was the first mayor.

Since 1981, Gresham has been the home of the Mount Hood Jazz Festival, an annual festival of jazz musicians.
