Greenbrier River
The Greenbrier River is a tributary of the New River in southeastern West Virginia, and is approximately 165 miles long. It rises as two streams (the East Fork and the West Fork) in northern Pocahontas County; they join at Durbin. The river then flows generally south-southwest to meet the New at Hinton.

The Greenbrier is one of the longest undammed rivers in the eastern United States, and is heavily used for recreational pursuits throughout its length. Its upper reaches flow through the Monongahela National Forest, and it is paralleled for 75 miles by the Greenbrier River Trail, a rail trail which was converted from an abandoned spur of the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad.
