Grand Forks is a United States city located in the state of North Dakota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 49,321. It is the county seat of Grand Forks County{{GR|6}} and the third largest city in North Dakota. It has a twin city, East Grand Forks, Minnesota. The two communities make up the metropolitan area often called Greater Grand Forks.
