Gotti

Gotti

Gotti was a TV movie made in 1996 starring Armand Assante and many of the actors who would later play mob men on The Sopranos. It was a factual representation of the rise and fall of John Gotti. The movie did not portray the infamous meeting of Sammy "the Bull" Gravano and Gotti. They did not meet at the house of Carlo Gambino when discussing a hit, they met however though many meetings and word of mouth from the other capos. Also not portayed were the hits of Louie Milito and Mikey DeBatt, they were discussed in a small wiretap scene in the courtroom. The movie does; however, show a reflection of John Gotti's stoic personality when Gotti gets sentenced to a life time in jail, without the possibility of parole. Facing the reality of never being a free man, John Gotti looks in the mirror and says: "Still with me is Cosa Nostra, 'till I die".
