Gonabad


 
 

Gonabad (گناباد in Persian) is a city in the province of Razavi Khorasan, Iran. It is mostly well-known because of Gonabadi Dervishes. It is also one of the most important producers of saffron in the country. The main cities are Bajestan, Kakhk, Beedoukht, and the main villages are Zeebad (Zeabad) Kalat, Seno, Belond, and Desfan. The famous ancient war of 11 rokh had happened between Iran and Turan in this city on the castle of Zeebad.
