Golden Boy is the title of a play by Clifford Odets, first staged in 1937 by the Group Theatre. Its Broadway cast included Frances Farmer, Elia Kazan and Luther Adler.

Golden Boy is a 3700 lb. 13 ft. high statue perched at the top of the Legislative building in Winnipeg, Canada. It was purchased by Manitoba Government from France, it was sculpted by Charles Gardet of Paris in 1918, and cast in bronze by the Barbidienne Foundry. It was placed in a ship's hold for transport to Canada. However, the ship was commandeered for servive in WW One so the stautue remained in the ship's hold for the whole war travelling about the world. Finally, the figure was transported to Canada at the end of the war and hoisted to the top of the building for its opening in 1919. In the 1940's the statue was painted gold, before being gilded with 24 carat gold in 1951. In 1970 the torch was illuminated, as part of Manitoba's Centennial Celebration. In 2002 it was lowered to the ground and needed repairing due to the rust of its iron supports. It is now back in place and probably good for another 84 years.
