Goat roping

Similar in every way to calf-roping, except the outright stubborness and unpredictability of the goat.

Goat-roping, or "goat-tying," is a rodeo event in which a goat is released from a chute at one end of an arena. A roper--either man or woman--follows on horseback. The rider must lasso the goat--any part will do--from his or her mount. The rider then hops off the horse, runs to the goat and must tie three of the goat's legs together. The event is timed and once the goat is tied, the clock stops. Fastest time wins. If the rider misses the goat completely with the lasso or the goat becomes untied before five seconds have passed, the rider receives no score.
