Globe Trekker
Globe Trekker (also called Pilot Guides outside the United States and originally broadcast as Lonely Planet) is an adventure tourism television series produced by Pilot Productions. The British-based series was inspired by the Lonely Planet travelbooks and is currently entering its 11th season. Globe Trekker is broadcast in over 40 countries across 6 continents.

The premise of the show features a host and camera crew travelling to a country and experiencing the sights and sounds that the location has to offer. The series goes beyond popular tourist destinations to give viewers a more authentic look at local culture. Hosts participate in different aspects of regional life, from attending a traditional wedding to visiting a mining community. Globe Trekker also includes interviews with backpackers who share tips on independent travel in that particular country.
