Glenn Gould Prize
The Glenn Gould Prize is an international award bestowed by the Glenn Gould Foundation. This honour is in memory of noted Canadian pianist Glenn Gould and is awarded every third year to a living individual in recognition of their contributions to music and communication. Recipients of the prize are referred to as 'Laureates', and their prize consists of a cash award of $50,000 Canadian dollars, and the right to name a 'Protégé' of their choosing who in turn receives the City of Toronto - Glenn Gould International Protégé Prize in Music. Both Laureates and Protégés additionally receive bronze sculptures of Glenn Gould by Canadian artist Ruth Abernethy. In addition, a portrait photograph of each Laureate is displayed in the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto.
