Gladsaxe

Gladsaxe is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Copenhagen County on the island of Zealand (Sj?lland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 25 km?, and has a total population of 62,007 (2005). Its mayor is Karin S?jberg Holst, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party.

The site of its municipal council is the town of Buddinge. Other towns in the municipality are Gladsaxe, S?borg, Bagsv?rd, and M?rkh?j, with towns butting up to each other in an urban sprawl.

Neighboring municipalities are Gentofte to the east, Lyngby-Taarb?k to the north, V?rl?se and Herlev to the west, and Copenhagen to the south.
