Gizmo Project is a proprietary peer-to-peer internet telephony (VoIP) network founded by Michael Robertson.

Unlike similar software like Skype for example, the Gizmo Project is based on the open Session Initiation Protocol and Jabber. Gizmo Project was initiated and built by a team of engineers and product managers including Jeff Bonforte, Prasad Mahendra, Matthew Reilly, Chris Silverberg, Erik Martin, and Roland Krikava.
