Giorgio Chinaglia


 

Giorgio Chinaglia (born January 24, 1947 in Carrara) was an Italian football striker.

Chinaglia grew up in Wales and began his career with local club Swansea Town and also played also in Italy for Massese, Internapoli, and AS Roma in his native Italy. He made his name with Lazio, where he played for seven seasons. In 1976, Chinaglia moved the NASL and the New York Cosmos, where he enjoyed great success, scoring 192 goals in 213 games, the best in the defunct league's history. He led the league in scoring four times.

Chinaglia had 14 caps and scored four goals for Italy, and played in the {{Wc|1974}}.
