Giants-Dodgers rivalry

The historic rivalry between the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers began when both clubs played in New York City. When both moved to California in 1958, the rivalry continued unabated as the cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco had long been rivals in economic, cultural, and political arenas. Along with the feud between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, it is one of the longest lasting in baseball.
