Gerry McNamara

Gerry McNamara (born August 28, 1983 in Scranton, Pennsylvania) is a starting guard on the current Syracuse University men's Basketball team. Now a senior, McNamara, along with teammate Carmelo Anthony, lead his Orange (formerly "Orangemen") to their first ever National Championship in 2003. In the title game versus the Kansas Jayhawks, McNamara hit an amazing 6 three pointers in the first half, giving his team a hefty 18 point cushion during the first half. In the second half, Syracuse managed to cling to this lead, eventually winning the game by a mere three points. Later, in 2004, he scored a startling 43 points in the first round game of the NCAA championship.
