Gerhard Barkhorn
Gerhard "Gerd" Barkhorn (20 March, 1919 - 8 January, 1983) was the second most succesfull German Luftwaffe fighter ace of World War 2 after Erich Hartmann. He flew over 1100 combat sorties and was credited with 301 victories, mostly on the eastern front flying with the famed Jagdgeschwader 52 alongside Hartmann and Günther Rall.
