George Pál

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ As an animator, he made the Puppetoons series in the 1940s, then switched to live action filmmaking with Destination Moon in 1950. His films include When Worlds Collide (1951), The War of the Worlds (1953), Conquest of Space, Tom Thumb (1960), The Time Machine (1961), and Doc Savage (1975). ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ He died in Beverly Hills of heart attack at the age of 72 and was interred in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
