George Hendrick
George Andrew Hendrick Jr. (born October 18 1949 in Los Angeles, California, USA) is a former outfielder for six major league teams, most notably, the St. Louis Cardinals from 1979-84.
Highlights
- First pick of the 1969 amateur draft
- Twice Silver Slugger Award winner (1980, 1983)
- 4-time All-Star (1974-75, 1980, 1983)
- Finished 2nd in RBI in the National League (109, in 1980, behind only Mike Schmidt)
- Broke up Mario Soto's no-hitter with 2 outs in the 9th inning, with a home run to tie the score
