Gene Green
Raymond Eugene "Gene" Green (born October 17, 1947) is a Democratic politician and a U.S. Congressman from the state of Texas.

Green was born in Houston, Texas and he graduated from the University of Houston. He was first elected to the Texas House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1972. Green rose to the Texas State Senate in 1985 and to the U.S. House in 1992. He has a moderate voting record in the House. Despite the woes that redistricting has given other Texas Democrats, Green won reelection without a Republican opponent in 2004. He currently represented the 29th Texas Congressional district, (map), which comprises part of Houston and some of its suburbs to the east and north.
