Gebhard Leberecht von Bl?cher (December 16, 1742 in Rostock (Mecklenburg) - September 12, 1819 in Krieblowitz (Silesia) (now Krobielowice in Poland)), Graf (Count), later elevated to F?rst von Wahlstatt, was a Prussian general who led his army against Napoleon I at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Honorary citizen of Rostock, and Berlin. Bl?cher bore the nickname "Marschall Vorw?rts" ("Field Marshal Forward") because of his approach to warfare. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
