Gavin Menzies
Gavin Menzies, a former Royal Navy submarine commander, is the author of the controversial book ' which asserted that ships from the fleet of Chinese admiral Zheng He travelled to the Americas prior to Christopher Columbus' arrival in 1492. He was born in 1937 and joined the U.K. Navy in 1953. He now resides in London with his wife, Marcella, and two daughters.
