Gavin Bonnar

Gavin Bonnar is Sharon Corr's husband (violoinst of The Corrs). He is a barrister in Belfast and Dublin but most in Belfast.

Recently, since the involvement of his wife to help Africa to fight AIDS, he helps to build homes in South Africa.

Sharon went for a concert in Cape Town (85th anniversary of Nelson Mandela) in Sommer 2003 and Gavin came to spend some free times with his wife. In the hotel, some of the Irish lads, who are part of the charity Township Challenge, struck up a conversation with Gavin. He asked them what they were doing and they said they were building houses in the township. Naturally, he told Sharon and her family, so they came to see what people were doing in the township of Imizamo Yethu and they were really impressed especially Sharon who was so moved by the whole experience that she decided to get involved with raising awareness and funds for the project.

Gavin, who was with her at the time also visited the township and for the rest of his stay helped build houses and has since returned a few times as part of the building team.

The couple doesn't help only for this charity fact, they offered 20 000? to an association to help children.
