Gator Bowl Stadium
Gator Bowl Stadium was a football and soccer stadium that formerly stood in Jacksonville, Florida. It was the home of the Jacksonville Tea Men of the NASL from 1981-1982 and then of the Jacksonville Bulls of the USFL from 1984-1985 and of the annual Gator Bowl from 1946-1993. It also hosted the annual Georgia/Florida college football game, which has come to be called "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party", from 1933-1993. The stadium was largely demolished between 1993 and 1995 so that ALLTEL Stadium could be built on the site. Much of the surrounding infrastructure remains, but only the West upper deck in the seating bowl was actually part of the old stadium.
