Galinda
Galinda is a character in author Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel '. Galinda also appears in the Broadway musical Wicked, based on Maguire's novel, in which she goes by the name of Galinda Upland (her last name taken from the Uplands and Upper Uplands, which are regions in the land of Oz). She is based on the character Glinda from the classic L. Frank Baum book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Her path crosses with that of Elphaba (the future Wicked Witch of the West) while attending Shiz University, and while the two girls dislike each other at first, they eventually become unlikely friends.
