Gabriel Lippmann
Gabriel Jonas Lippmann (August 16, 1845 - July 13, 1921) was awarded the 1908 Nobel Prize in Physics for producing the first colour photographic plate, known as the Lippman plate. He was born to a Jewish family Hollerich, Luxemburg. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
