Fusion
Fusion typically refers to the merging of two or more entities into a single one:

- nuclear fusion is the combination of two atomic nuclei into a single nucleus.
- For the heat energy absorbed by a solid material at its melting point, in becoming a liquid at the same temperature, see heat of fusion.
- fuse is an electrical device designed to interrupt a circuit in response to excessive current, by allowing for critical melting (designed material failure) of the conductor.
- In biology and medicine
- In cellular biology, the term "fusion" may refer to karyogamy —the union of two cell nuclei.
- The fusion of two genes is called chromosomal translocation.
- In the physiology of bones, bone fusion is the natural (ankylosis) or artificially stimulated (arthrodesis) process of joining two bone segments — such as after discectomy.
- In opthamology and cognitive science, binocular fusion is the (normal) perception of a unified scene from the input of two separate eyes.
